The Editor – Revd Dr John Squires

With Love to the World is edited by John Squires, who has served in ministry with the Uniting Church in Australia for over four decades. Born in Sydney, he completed degrees at Sydney University and trained for ministry at United Theological College, Sydney. He completed a PhD in New Testament and Early Christianity at Yale University in 1988 and has an enduring passion for exploring biblical texts and the ways that they inform our faith and discipleship.

John has served in urban, regional, and rural congregational placements in NSW and the ACT. For two decades he taught Biblical Studies at UTC. More recently, he has been Principal of Perth Theological Hall, where he reinvigorated a whole-of-church education and formation programme across Western Australia. John has also served in Presbytery roles and as an Intentional Interim Minister.

He has a passion for education, especially working to equip and resource lay leaders for their roles in churches large and small. John shares this passion with his wife, Elizabeth Raine, and they often teach or preach together as a team. Music, reading, gardening, and family history are interests that John loves to pursue when time allows.

All editorial and copyright enquiries should be directed to John.
