History

The first issue of With Love to the World was produced in March 1976, prior to the formation of the Uniting Church in Australia. Our founders, the late Revd Drs Gordon Dicker and Robert Maddox, and Rev Denis Towner, were keen to help members of the church link week day prayer and Bible study with what happens in church on Sunday.

Early issues were typed on wax stencils, duplicated on a Gestetner machine, collated by hand, and distributed to several congregations in Sydney—and Deniliquin in south-west New South Wales.

Since those early years, our production methods have been modernized, and our circulation has grown to 11,000 copies, which are distributed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, and other countries.

WLW is produced by a committee of people from the Uniting Churches in the Strathfield area in Sydney and from United Theological College.
